Voter Registration

If you are a U.S Citizen, a resident of Arizona, and will be 18 years old by November 5, 2024, you can register to vote in Arizona. You can register to vote the following ways:

  • Online: Visit Service Arizona. You’ll need your Arizona Driver License and/or an Arizona non-operating I.D. card issued by the Motor Vehicle Division.
  • By Mail:
    • Download and complete the Arizona Voter Registration Form.
    • Instructions for mailing the completed form are on the first page under the “Complete and return this form” section.
    • Ensure it’s postmarked by October 7th, 2024
  • In Person:
    • Visit your County Recorder’s office.
    • You can also register at any Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) office when you apply for or renew your driver’s license.

Remember, regardless of the method you choose, your registration must be completed or received by October 7th, 2024, to be eligible to vote in the 2024 general election.

Voting by Mail

How to vote by mail in Arizona.
  • To vote by mail, you can request a ballot from the Arizona Voter Information Portal or from your County Recorder’s Office.
  • Ballots will be mailed to voters beginning around October 9th.
  • Carefully read and follow the instructions, filling out all required fields and signing where indicated. 
  • Return your ballot by mail or drop it off at your county’s ballot drop box or a designated drop-off location. You do not need postage if you’re mailing your ballot back within the state of Arizona.
  • If  you are mailing your ballot it’s recommended to send it no later than October 29th, to ensure timely delivery. Please use a county ballot drop box or a designated drop off location after October 29th.
  • Your ballot must be received by your county elections office by 7 PM on Election Day (November 5th) to be counted.

Early Voting

The early voting period for the 2024 general election starts October 9th and ends November 1st. You can vote early by visiting an early vote location in your county:

Voting on Election Day

Election day is Tuesday, November 5th. Polling hours are 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

I.D. Requirements for In-Person Voting

Arizona law outlines three lists of IDs that are allowed when voting in person to verify your identity. You need a valid government issued ID that includes your name, photo and the address where you are registered to vote (List 1). If that ID does not match your voter record, you need two forms of ID (List 2 or List LIST 1 (One of the below required)

  • Valid Arizona driver license
  • Valid Arizona non-operating identification license
  • Tribal enrollment card or other form of tribal identification
  • Valid United States federal, state, or local government issued identification

An identification is “valid” unless it can be determined on its face that it has expired.

LIST 2 (Two of the below are required)

  • Utility bill of the elector that is dated within ninety days of the date of the election. A utility bill may be for electric, gas, water, solid waste, sewer, telephone, cellular phone, or cable television
  • Bank or credit union statement that is dated within 90 days of the date of the election
  • Valid Arizona Vehicle Registration
  • Indian census card
  • Property tax statement of the elector’s residence
  • Tribal enrollment card or other form of tribal identification
  • Vehicle insurance card
  • Valid United States federal, state, or local government issued identification
  • Voter Registration Card / Recorder’s Certification
  • Any “Official Election Material” mailing bearing your name and address

LIST 3 (Mix & Match from List 1 & List 2)

  • Any Valid Picture ID from List #1 with an address that does NOT match the Precinct Register WITH a non-photo ID from List #2 with an address that DOES match the Precinct Register.
  • U.S. PASSPORT and one item from List #2
  • U.S. MILITARY ID and one item from List #2
